Drugs and two targeted persons found at bus controls along E40

Customs and road police found two suspected persons during the inspection of intercity buses such as FlixBus along the E40 in Wetteren on Saturday evening. This is reported by the Federal Public Service Finance.

The East Flemish road police had the buses diverted to the checkpoint along the E40 in Wetteren, East Flanders, after which all occupants were checked. The luggage went through a mobile scanner and drug dogs were deployed. Police and customs also searched for reported persons, weapons, large amounts of money or stolen objects.

Ultimately, seven buses, 25 passenger cars and 337 people were checked. Two persons were found and a total of 12,400 euros in cash was seized. Eight immediate out-of-court settlements were also issued for drug possession. One person also had a fake driver’s license.
