Six people were shot dead at a home in California’s Prime Farming Valley on Tuesday morning, including a six-month-old baby girl in the arms of her 17-year-old mother, in what authorities called a targeted attack and a “horrific massacre.”
Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreau linked the incident to the illegal drug trade, saying the same home was the subject of a drug search warrant last week. He said two suspects are still at large.
The authorities responded after hearing several gunshots. Some of the victims were found on the street while others were found at home.
Boudreau said one of the victims was alive after being shot, but later died in hospital.
The attacks took place in a farming town of 5,400 people halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
