drugs
In the American as well as in the German hip-hop scene, money, guns, women and drugs are big themes that are dealt with in the rap lyrics. However, it’s often the case that rappers only play one character in their lyrics, but distance themselves from things like drugs in real life.
Unfortunately, it also happens that the lyrics about drugs are not only fiction, but also reflect the lifestyle of the rappers. While some rappers are open about their drug use, there are others who keep it secret and only talk about it afterwards – after they have stopped – like Samra, for example, who recently went viral with it.
In an interview with Leeroy, he said, among other things, that he had consumed cough syrup with the active ingredient codeine. “Thank God I don’t take that anymore and I hope I’ll never take that again. But I took that too, you take that with Sprite, smoke a joint with it.”says Samra in an interview.
He continues: “It gave me a psychosis. I was in the clinic a year and a half ago. I had a psychosis, I got a psychosis at home. I smoked a lot of marijuana at the time, including high-dose marijuana, and drank cough syrup, Makatussin.
And then something happened in my head that I had a mega psychosis and woke up in the hospital, so fixed.” Apparently the psychosis was so bad that he narrowly escaped death.
Now the next rapper who blew his drug past on the table has stepped forward. Pa Sports released a video titled “XXL Statement” on its YouTube channel a few hours ago, explaining, among other things, that it had a problem with marijuana.
He states that in the past he has used benzodiazepines – in addition to marijuana – to “suppress” many emotions. He then explains that while he was able to get off benzodiazepines, he couldn’t quit his weed use.
Although he continues to use weed, he doesn’t downplay the drug, saying: “To many it seems like a harmless thing – maybe it is, as long as you don’t abuse it – but after 10-20 years it’s not just consumption, it’s a part of your life – it controls your emotions.”says Pa Sports in the video.
But while he continues to use drugs, he assures his fans that they don’t have to worry about him like other rappers, according to Pa Sports. “I go to the gym five times a week, have a relatively healthy routine, make my music and also fulfill my responsibilities as label boss – so apparently everything is fine.”
It then gets a little deeper, however, as Pa Sports then explains: “(…) That drug problems don’t just start at the point where you’ve ended up homeless under a bridge. If you’re at the point where you need something outside of you to enjoy life, I think you’ve got a huge problem.”
