An investigation by the police and the Financial Police brings to light two groups in the Neapolitan area which were involved in drug trafficking and dealing also in Salerno. The investigating judge of Napoli signed an implementing ordinance of the precautionary custody in prison of 15 suspects for criminal conspiracy aimed at international trafficking of narcotic substances, trafficking and possession of narcotic substances, receiving stolen goods, undue access to devices suitable for communication by prisoners, illegal possession and carrying of a firearm in a public place, dangerous ignitions and explosions and fraudulent transfer of values.
The two criminal organizations, one satellite of the other, were active in Naples and Annunziata Tower. The first, the Neapolitan one, with a logistical base in the Arenaccia district, marketed drugs wholesale in the Neapolitan clandestine markets through couriers who used vehicles equipped with a double bottom specially made by a trusted body shop completely unknown to the tax authorities; the second, with an operational base in the municipality of Oplontino, was permanently supplied by the first and distributed large batches of narcotics to buyers who sent them to the drug dealing centers of Torre Annunziata, in its hinterland, in Salerno and its province.
During the investigation 7 people were arrested in flagrante delicto and was subjected to almost seizure a quintal of narcotic substance (cocaine and hashish), as well as a pistol with abraded serial number, two magazines, 33 cartridges and sums of cash for over 820 thousand euros. One of the couriers used by the Neapolitan group for drug deliveries, after being arrested in flagrante delicto, continued to maintain relationships with traffickers through telephone devices illegally introduced into prison. At the same time as the personal precautionary measures, the preventive seizure was carried out of two commercial activities (a bar and a pizzeria) in Naples and fictitiously registered in the names of those with a criminal record, where the suspects usually met to plan illicit trafficking and to receive customer orders, as well as a motorbike and a car available to the head of the Neapolitan group.
