Organizers of heroin smuggling channel to Ukraine detained

The group sold drugs on the territory of Ukraine, as well as smuggled them in small consignments to the countries of the European Union.
During a special operation today, on July 23, the organizers of the smuggling channel with a consignment of heroin from Iran with a total weight of over 368 kilograms were detained. About this on Facebook reported Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
“Today, by joint international efforts, we detained two brothers – citizens of Turkey, who were in charge of the heroin supply channel to our country. They are members of a transnational criminal group that smuggles heroin from Iran through Armenia and Georgia to Ukraine,” Venediktova said.
It is reported that the group sold drugs on the territory of Ukraine, including on the territory of Crimea, and smuggled them in small consignments to the countries of the European Union.
Law enforcers monitored the delivery of a truck from Iran to Ukraine to a warehouse in Kiev. A narcotic drug was found in a car trailer in specially equipped hollow brick dummies. During the search, 1159 briquettes with heroin were seized.
The organizers of the smuggling channel were detained near a warehouse. During the inspection, 5 briquettes with 1550 grams of heroin were found and seized in two suitcases.
The total weight of the seized especially dangerous drug is over 368 kilograms.
Earlier it was reported that the SBU blocked a large-scale channel smuggling of precursors through Boryspil International Airport.
