Police shared images of the manhunt for a French drug courier on Wednesday. In the video, which the police posted on YouTube, you can see how the man flees like mad through Breda in Belgium.
The drug courier takes life-threatening actions to avoid the police. The man is first seen in the video while driving on the southern ring road in Breda. It then takes the ramp to the A16.
Once on the highway, the man drives at high speed, not paying attention to the other traffic. The car can be seen driving from the left to the right lane, zigzagging between other cars and trucks. The emergency line is also used by the man.
At the Galder junction, the Frenchman chooses to drive towards the Belgian border. There too, the chase continues at high speed. Even though the chase is now on Belgian territory, the Dutch police are still hot on his heels.
Police run from Belgium
Since October 1 last year, the Dutch police have been allowed to pursue and arrest suspects as far away as Belgium, without first having to ask for permission. And the same applies to the opposite.
Witnesses and suspects can be questioned in the neighboring country without documents. This should make it easier to track down suspects.
These agreements were made in a police treaty between the Benelux countries. Therefore the rules also apply to leisure activities in Luxembourg.
