Ivermectin belongs to the group of avermectins. It is administered, among other things, in the case of infestation with nematodes and itch mites. The effects are due to the binding to chloride channels, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasites.

Commercial products in Germany are Driponin 3 mg tablets and Scabioral 3 mg tablets. Since 2015 ivermectin has also been available for the topical treatment of inflammatory lesions of (papulopustular) rosacea in adult patients (commercial preparation Soolantra 10 mg / g cream).
