The president of the transition, General Oligui Nguema, during his New Year greetings to the populations, decided to lower the price of gas.
4950 Fcfa instead of 6000 Fcfa is now the price of gas in Gabon. This is what emerges from a press release from the Minister of Oil and Gas which indicates that: “from 1is January 2024, butane gas now sells for 4,950 instead of 6,000 FCFA.” The news immediately came into force in Gabon.
In addition, the government has set the pump price of fuel as follows: Gasoline 595 FCFA per liter and 575 FCFA per liter of diesel. This is news that delights people. Remember that Gabon is a net importer of butane gas.
A few days ago, the country inaugurated a new gas production plant, built by Perenco. The latter will reduce gas imports into Gabon by 50%.
