SANTA CRUZ – Todoque was one of the first villages where the lava flow from the Cumbre Vieja volcano arrived on the Canary Island of La Palma. The residents brought themselves to safety, some dogs from the village sought refuge in two water reservoirs. The animals have been there for a month now, enclosed by the lava.
