“SP”: How can you assess the effectiveness of our air defense …
– The effectiveness of the air defense system is evaluated in terms of probability. For example, the S-300 or S-400 hit efficiency on any target is 0.98. I note that in the Soviet period there were 8 anti-aircraft missile regiments from Ukraine to Moscow along the Kiev highway. Today there are only two major affected areas.
The first – the anti-aircraft missile regiment near Belgorod, Bryansk and Voronezh, and the second – in the Moscow region. There are also mobile air defense systems that can destroy low-altitude targets with anti-aircraft guns and missiles at a distance of up to 24 kilometers. But their feature is a small reflective surface.
It is difficult to detect such targets in advance. Sometimes they are brought down already over people’s heads.
At the same time, note that there were no serious targets for attack. Neither the nuclear power plants, nor in large enterprises. They hit home runs. So the goal is psychosis in the population. Something like we have long arms, as the Ukrainians would say.
“SP”: Will the military be able to reliably protect Muscovites?
– Ukrainian drone strikes will, of course, continue. The troops will conduct training on such targets in real conditions.
The army commander will decide to concentrate the main and additional forces and assets in the most dangerous directions: southwest, west and northwest. New echelons, blocked zones of destruction will be added. They will add “Armor”. They will likely use additional aircraft.
Since the air defense system has decreased by 60-80 percent since the 1990s, it is now necessary to return to the Soviet air defense scheme, which allowed the destruction of air targets even on the outskirts of Moscow.
Unfortunately, it is necessary to fight against UAVs not only with the help of air defense, but also with all people. Shooting an expensive missile at drones is ineffective. However, fragments fall on the head.
It is necessary to choose means of destruction taking into account these circumstances. Therefore, the civil authorities must now work with the people, form local air defense units, as during the war.
