The ‘soap’ surrounding the possible transfer of FC Twente goalkeeper Joël Drommel to PSV keeps the mood busy. Robin Jongmans and Jeroen Kapteijns report on the Telegraaf website that various factors play a role.
“FC Twente is high in the tree for Joël Drommel”, the duo writes. “The club from Enschede is asking 6.5 million euros plus a resale percentage for the goalkeeper, who is fixed for one year after this season because of an option. PSV is thinking of a transfer fee of up to 4 million euros for Drommel. If both parties do not moving towards each other threatens a stalemate, “said Kapteijns and Jongmans.
“Jan Streuer plays the negotiating game hard and hopes for the interference of other clubs, including Ajax. Due to the situation surrounding André Onana, however, Ajax does not have any concrete plans for Drommel at the moment”, the reporters continue. “The goalkeeper has made it clear to FC Twente that he is not interested in a foreign transfer and considers a transfer to PSV the best for his own development. Drommel does not want to be pushed in another direction by FC Twente.”
“If the player keeps his foot stiff, FC Twente will have to come to an agreement with PSV. FC Twente has already secured a dearly paid goalkeeper for next season (Lars Unnerstall, ed.) And Drommel will have to remove the option from 1. July a salary, which will hit the salary house in Enschede. Moreover, in the worst case scenario, Drommel can choose to serve out his contract and walk out transfer-free next season, “Kapteijns and Jongmans conclude.
