Droher’s murder weapon sniffed out by a service dog

On Saturday evening in district 6, a patrol of the Zurich city police was made aware of a man with a firearm by passers-by.

A patrol from the Zurich city police took on another case at the Lettensteg. Meanwhile, shortly after 9:30 p.m., passers-by drew her attention to a man who allegedly threatened another man with a gun.

After the alleged threat became aware of the police patrol, he ran towards Nordstrasse. The police officers were able to arrest the man a few minutes later by immediately triggering a close-range search.

Service dog sniffed out firearm

Shortly thereafter, the service dog “Abrax von Navacho” sniffed out his firearm near the place of arrest. It turned out to be a blank pistol.

The alleged perpetrator is a 21-year-old Eritrean. This was taken to a police station for further clarifications, further investigations are ongoing.
