Google Maps has introduced a new function that is intended to help drivers with traffic jams. How the trick works.

Google had already announced the practical new function for its mapping service “Google Maps” and “Android Auto” in the summer. Now the new modification is at least available for Android, as “chip.de” reports. But what function is it exactly and how is it supposed to help detect and avoid traffic jams in good time?
With the new function, malfunctions can be reported directly in the navigation menu while driving. This allows users to quickly and easily make a contribution that benefits the entire Google Maps community. But the driver himself can also recognize a traffic jam early through the reports of others and, for example, take a different route or the next motorway exit. These disruptions can now be reported with one click in Google Maps:
- Accident
- I’m staying
- Construction site
- Lane closed
- Breakdown
- Object on street

Google Maps is already available, but Android Auto will take some time to roll out. A start date has not yet been set. By the way: If you are traveling in a foreign city and have parked your car in a parking lot, you can easily find it again using Google Maps.
