“Although the Metropolitan Municipality has not met the requirement for a frame for the height of trucks, the convenience of citizens is the most important,” the road agency said. The measures are prescribed in the project for temporary strengthening of the facility commissioned by the Metropolitan Municipality of the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy (UASG).
“API is ready to assist the Sofia Municipality with an expert opinion on improving security around the facility. API expects within the next week the CO to implement these protective measures around the facility, and to send an invitation for a commission with which API, CO and SDVR will accept the temporary organization of traffic to legalize the opening of the road under the bridge. With these actions, the problem will be solved and the traffic and travel of the citizens of Sofia will be facilitated,” the traffic agency reports.

“The Metropolitan Municipality categorically rejects the claims of the API and states that the strengthening of the bridge is safe and does not endanger the lives of citizens. The strengthening was carried out precisely and in accordance with all the engineering prescriptions of the construction experts from the UASG and the legal and technical requirements,” wrote Terziev.
“We ask the API: why for months did you not fulfill your obligations to strengthen the bridge? Why are you again looking for a way to stop its opening? Whose interests are you serving with your constant sabotage – those of the citizens or political? I recall that the reason the municipality forcibly entered and carried out the emergency strengthening of the bridge facility is the non-fulfillment by API of the order issued by the chief architect, in which API was given a 30-day period to fulfill its obligations as an owner and to emergency strengthen the facility. API did not find time and resources to do so, but secured them to appeal the order and the granted preliminary execution.The court already rejected their appeal regarding the granted preliminary execution.A month ago, the API claimed to be ready to opened the way.
