On Saturday, May 29, 2021, shortly after 3:20 p.m., the Bern canton police were informed that a self-accident had occurred at the Henkerbrünnli in Bern.
According to initial findings, a 44-year-old man drove from Schützenmattstrasse in the direction of Tiefenaustrasse. For reasons still to be clarified, the car crashed into a road post at the Henkerbrünnli. An ambulance team immediately deployed took the man in critical condition to the hospital. A medical problem is in the foreground.
The traffic at the Henkerbrünnli intersection had to be regulated by the traffic service for around an hour and a half.
Investigations into the course of the accident and the circumstances that led to the accident are ongoing.
