TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA — Head Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Danang Parikesit stated that the government has regulated the speed of vehicles on paid freeways or so-called toll roads.
The speed regulation for driving on the toll road was made in 2013.
Danang Parikesit quoted from the bpjt.pu.go.id page, Sunday (7/11/2021) said that the provisions for speed limits on toll roads as stated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 79 of 2013 concerning Traffic and Road Transport Networks. .
Danang’s statement was revealed following an accident on the toll road and one of them happened to the artist Vanessa Angel and her husband, Febri Andriansyah, who died at the location when the car they were traveling in had a single accident.

It is suspected that the driver was exhausted and stepped on the gas to exceed 100 kilometers per hour.
“In the regulation it is written, the speed limit on expressways or toll roads is a minimum of 60 kilometers per hour to a maximum of 100 kilometers per hour,” explained Danang.
To drive on inner-city toll roads, the minimum driving speed is 60 kilometers per hour and a maximum of 80 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, the minimum speed for driving on highways outside the city is 60 kilometers per hour and a maximum of 100 kilometers per hour.
The purpose of the speed limit rules for driving on toll roads is to prevent accidents from happening, especially in some locations that are vulnerable.
Danang also appealed to toll road users to ensure their vehicles are in a healthy condition by paying attention to the tires, lights and brakes functioning properly.
