On Friday night, a group of protesters from the Black Lives Matter movement was protesting in Times Square, in downtown Manhattan, when they were suddenly hit by a vehicle.
Apparently, the authorities indicated that prior to the incident there was a confrontation between the marchers and those attending a rally in favor of Donald Trump.
As the situation heated up, an officer asked a pro-Trump protester to leave in his car; however, as we see in pictures, this person drove through the protest.
The images were shared almost immediately on social networks by several people, where we see how the group of protesters who were on public roads was violently attacked by this black Ford vehicle, which managed to flee.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and at this time the authorities are looking for the driver.
Protesters from the Black Lives Matter movement were there in response to a video released this week by the Rochester County Police, New York.
It corresponds to a situation attended to on March 23, that is, 5 months ago, where several policemen arrive on public roads and find an African-American man, naked on the street, in the rain.
The arrival of the police is due to a call from the victim’s own brother, who asked for help, since his brother Daniel Prude, 41 years old and with mental problems, was having a crisis and could not control him.
The images show how several policemen ask the man to throw himself on the ground, put his hands behind him, and then be handcuffed, but what happens next is quite outrageous.
It is seen how the policemen place a plastic bag on his head and one of them puts his foot on it, while the man pleads for help.
The victim had to be treated by paramedics at the scene and they performed resuscitation; he was later taken to the hospital, where after a week he survived on life support such as respirators.
This incident of police abuse adds to the most recent events such as the brutal murder of George Floyd and what happened with Jacob Blake who was shot 7 times by a policeman in Kenosha and is still in a hospital fighting for his life. Acts that have revived the manifestations of the movement that fights for racial injustice.
