A driver got off at dawn this Friday, around 02:00, from his vehicle at the height of the Conxo radar (Santiago de Compostela) to hammer the kinemometer, located in the heart of the city (SC-20). As the mayor of Santiago confirmed this morning, the alleged perpetrator of the events is a man from O Milladoiro who has already been identified. Xosé Sánchez Bugallo specified that the damage affected the exterior glass, with which, he added, he radar it is still operational.
This device came into operation in the year 2020 and since then It is one of the most penalized in the city. Proof of this is that in the first three months it generated more than 17,000 fines, more than half of those that were registered in the Santiago City Council for traffic issues in an entire year, then affected by opposition groups.
fixed speed cameras
Currently, in Santiago there are two fixed radars: one of them alternates its location between Conxo and O Restollal; and the other is located in the Hórreo tunnel. In addition, there are five cameras placed in different parts of the city that make sure that no one skips a red light, the so-called ‘fotorrrojos’: in Ruibal love, at the confluence of Rodríguez de Viguri with the Plaza de España; in the union between Romero Donallo and Frei Rosendo Salvado; in the avenue of Lugo and in the Peace Square.
