Authorities are looking for the driver who hit and ran over a pedestrian in Brooklyn.
The incident happened Friday around 9:30 a.m. in Bushwick, near Wyckoff Avenue and DeKalb Avenue.
Police say a truck was heading east on Dekalb when it hit a man.
When they arrived, the authorities found a man with serious injuries on his body.
A subsequent investigation determined that a white 2025 Freightliner MT 45G delivery truck was traveling west on Wyckoff Avenue and attempting to make a right turn north onto DeKalb Avenue.
That’s when he ran over a man named Marco Gallardo Tirado, 59 years old.
The pedestrian was trying to cross DeKalb Avenue at the north crosswalk, crossing from west to east.
Emergency responders transported him to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
After the ongoing investigation, Lennis Escalona Luna, 42, was arrested and charged on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 3:30 a.m. and is accused of failure to yield to a pedestrian and he stopped.
