Jakarta – The police arrested the lawyer driver Habib Rizieq, Alamsyah Hanafiah, for bringing sharp weapon (sajam). Alamsyah admitted that he did not know that the driver was arrested.
“My driver? Oh, I don’t know yet,” said Alamsyah in front of the East Jakarta District Court, Friday (26/3/2021).
Alamsyah said that he did know that the driver was carrying sajam. According to him, the sajam was used to cut mangoes.
“Oh, there is, to cut mangoes, there are sharp weapons there,” he said.
Apart from cutting mangoes, according to him, the sajam is also used to cut cables. According to Alamsyah, the sajam was in the form of a knife.
“That is our preparation if the cables break and so on. If I’m not mistaken like a knife. In the car from the past, yesterday the cable, the turn signal was on, so we stop cutting the cable first,” he said.
Alamsyah admitted that he was going to the East Jakarta Metro Police to confirm the latest news. “I’ll be there later,” he said.
Currently, Alamsyah is accompanying Rizieq who is undergoing trial at the East Jakarta District Court (East Jakarta District Court). Currently the trial for the Rizieq crowd case is being suspended.
Previously it was reported that the police arrested a man who was known to be the driver of one of Habib Rizieq Shihab’s lawyers, Alamsyah Hanafiah. The man was arrested for carrying a sharp weapon.
“Yes, it is true that at 12 noon we will release him. He (the perpetrator) is Pak Alamsyah’s driver,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Indra Tarigan, to reporters, Friday (26/3).
Indra has not specified the identity of the driver. However, he said the officers had secured the two pieces of cloth as evidence.
“Two sharp weapons in the form of a long machete and a short machete,” added Indra.
Regarding the chronology of the discovery of evidence, Indra said that he would explain in detail at a press conference that will be held this afternoon.
He only said that the two sajam blades were known to be secured by officers in the car around the East Jakarta District Court area.
“It was found in Mr. Alamsyah’s car, the driver of the car, Mr. Alamsyah. We confiscated it from the car,” concluded Alamsyah.
