In Poland, near the border with Belarus, another carrier of illegal migrants with four passengers was detained, while trying to escape, the car got into an accident.
This was reported by the border guards of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, writes “European Truth”.
The incident took place on the evening of April 19. A patrol of border guards from Bialowieza ordered the Nissan Note car to stop. The driver instead accelerated and tried to escape, they began to catch up with him.
After a few kilometers, the driver in a hurry lost control of the corner and flew into a tree.
Rescue services were called to the scene, people had to be removed from the car with the help of special equipment, and everyone was hospitalized.
As it turned out, the driver was a citizen of Poland, and his four passengers were Syrians who managed to quietly cross the border from Belarus.
Recall that since the summer of 2021, the Lukashenka regime has organized a hybrid migration crisis on the borders of Belarus’ European neighbors, facilitating the arrival of people from Africa and the Middle East who are trying to get into the EU. The Baltic states and Poland see this as revenge for Lukashenka’s tough stance on repression of the Belarusian opposition and civil society.
Since the winter of 2021, the intensity of such attempts has decreased significantly, but the problem has not gone away. Individuals who help migrants continue their journey deep into the EU are also regularly identified.
