Jakarta (ANTARA) – During a pandemic, maintaining optimal immunity is an important thing to pay attention to, one way is to consume foods rich in flavanols.
According to research conducted by the American Heart Association, people over the age of 30 are prone to the risk of stroke and heart attack, which generally begins with hypertension or high blood pressure.
As a supporting food that has many functions for the health of the body, several journals and global studies have reviewed the benefits of flavanols in cocoa against various diseases, one of which is to lighten the workload of the heart.

Healthy blood circulation is very dependent on elastic blood vessels which can be obtained by regular consumption of cocoa flavanol at least 200 mg / day. Cocoa flavanols can repair blood vessels that are inelastic, thereby relieving the workload of the heart and improving heart function.

In addition, according to the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, cocoa flavanols can increase blood flow to the brain and cause a positive mood. Consuming pure cocoa also has the potential to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.
The high antioxidants contained in cocoa flavanols have anti-inflammatory properties that are useful for maintaining healthy skin. Apart from being used in medicine, antioxidants also protect the skin from the inside against the oxidation process (premature aging).
