And the official account of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority indicated in a tweet on ‘Twitter’ that ginger also has uses in alternative medicine, and its uses include:

  • Reduce cold and flu symptoms
  • Reduce nausea and dizziness
  • Menstrual pain relief
  • Relieve digestive disorders
  • Stimulate blood circulation

However, the authority warned against excessive use of ginger and recommended consuming a maximum of 2-4 grams of the fresh plant per day, noting that 250 grams of ground ginger is equivalent to one gram of fresh ginger.

Excessive use of ginger can cause these health problems:

  • stomach ache
  • Diarrhea
  • Lowering of blood sugar level
  • Palpitations

It should be noted that ginger also interferes with anticoagulant medications and antiplatelet breakdown, which can lead to bleeding.
