Drilled 120 Meters, Not Yet Out of Water

Solopos.com, WONOGIRI – Drilling wells in Ngargoharjo Village, Giritontro District, Wonogiri, which will be used to overcome drought in the village has not been successful.

In fact, the drilling has now reached a depth of 120 meters. The well drilling, which is located in Balong Hamlet, Ngargoharjo Village, is undertaken by the Geological Agency.

“Meanwhile, it is still failing. Even though the depth has reached 120 meters,” said Ngargoharjo Village Head, Sumadi, when contacted. Solopos.com, Sunday (25/10/2020).

Until now, said Sumadi, there is no certainty whether the drilling of the well will continue in the same place or whether the drilling location will be moved.

“We’ve had time to ask the workers who drilled the well. They are also still waiting for a decision from their superiors. According to them the time is already late October, quite short. Funds are budgeted until the end of the year, December,” he said.

He says, initially the body geology have conducted research before drilling the well in Ngargoharjo Village, Giritontro District, Wonogiri. In this study, the geoelectric method is used to determine whether there is a water source in the ground to be drilled.

At that time, according to Sumadi, the results were from 60 meters to 80 meters deep. However, in fact up to a depth of 120 meters has not yet come out. It can be concluded that the results of the study are uncertain.

Budget

Sumadi said, in 2020, through the APBDes his party had budgeted to carry out drilling of wells in several locations. This is an effort to overcome the annual problem in the village, namely lack of water during the dry season.

However, he continued, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the APBDes had been diverted to the Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLT DD) budget, the plan had not been realized. In fact, permanent drought alleviation by drilling wells is a priority program.

“Next year we will budget again for drilling wells. We have conveyed it to the residents. The 2021 APBDes to permanently overcome water shortages will be discussed again,” he said.

In the future, said Sumadi, the failure of the well drilling will be an evaluation material. “Drilling with the geoelectric system will be evaluated. So that water does not occur again,” said Sumadi.

Previously, wells from the same test or research results from the Geological Agency had been built in Plereng hamlet, Tlogoharjo village, Giritontro district. When the drilling is fruitful, water can emerge.
