The name of Riechedly Bazoer belongs to Feyenoord. The Rotterdammers hope to take over the 25-year-old midfielder from Vitesse. However, the Arnhemmers do ask a considerable amount for the star player of the Arnhemmers. Valentijn Driessen sees Bazoer as a huge asset to the team of trainer Arne Slot.
”Excellent player for Feyenoord”, says the journalist in conversation with The Telegraph. ”Bazoer will be at the top of the Feyenoord hierarchy in terms of quality. I think Feyenoord can squeeze his hands when he manages to get rid of him at Vitesse. They ask one and a half to two million euros for him. Do you want to pay that for a player who will run out of his contract in six months? On the other hand, in six months you may not be able to get him because the clubs will then be lining up for such a quality player. Bazoer is one hundred percent an asset to Feyenoord.”
PSV trumps Feyenoord about Veerman
Joey Veerman was the first option for Feyenoord. However, the midfielder was bought by PSV. “No, I wasn’t surprised by that. PSV has a considerable war chest up its sleeve. They could offer much more than Feyenoord. When Feyenoord had offered six million, PSV simply went over it. The current reality is that Feyenoord is losing out to PSV. Feyenoord will have to learn to live with that for the time being as long as there is no external capital.”
Driessen thought it was strange that Feyenoord had officially reported to Heerenveen. “I thought it was remarkable that they could pay five million. If you look at the numbers, you don’t see five million anywhere. It is again external financiers who have to pay for that. Slot has managed to do that again. Sportingly, things are going so well that people are standing up to provide the selection with quality.”
