A mini dress worn by singer Amy Winehouse, who died in 2011, at her last official concert, went under the hammer in Beverly Hills on Sunday for more than $243,000. Auction house Julien’s Auction had estimated in advance that the dress would fetch $15,000 to $20,000.

The British singer, known for songs such as ‘Back to Black’ and ‘Rehab’, wore the black and green dress during a concert in Belgrade in June 2011. She then stumbled across the stage and was greeted with booing. Shortly after, she canceled her planned tour in Europe.
Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on July 23. She died of alcohol poisoning when she was 27 years old.
Birthday card from Adele
The dress belonged to a collection of 800 objects that were auctioned during a two-day auction. On the first day, several pieces went way over the estimated price. For example, a gold-colored mini dress from Dolce & Gabbana went under the hammer for $150,000 while it was estimated at $7,000. A black and white striped dress the singer wore during an appearance on the ‘Tonight Show’ with Jay Leno in 2007 grossed $25,000. A bidder paid more than $11,000 for a black skirt Winehouse wore to the 2008 Grammy Awards when she won five trophies.
The turquoise bra the singer wore in the music video for “You Know I’m No Good” fetched a good $25,000. Two of the British star’s stuffed animals went under the hammer for more than $6,200. A birthday card that Winehouse had received from singer Adele was also auctioned. That card was valued in the catalog at $200-400, but was eventually auctioned for $3,200.
On Sunday, a red heart-shaped leather handbag, designed by the label Moschino for Winehouse and estimated at 20,000 euros, went under the hammer for 205,000 dollars (177,000 euros).
Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis, helped set up the auction. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which helps protect young people from alcohol and drug abuse.
