Dresdner SC gets “a smack missed” from Allianz Stuttgart!

A final clap for the Dresdner SC! The butterflies clearly lost their first final against a strong Allianz Stuttgart.

Dresden – That went faster than feared! The Dresdner SC around Lena Stigrot & Co. conceded a clear 0-3 home defeat (15:25, 20:25, 19:25) against the girls from Allianz MTV Stuttgart at the start of the final series (best of five).

And the captain immediately found clear words in Dresden’s Margon Arena. “They gave us a slap, you can’t say otherwise from the score,” said the 26-year-old.

In the first sentence it only went back and forth at the beginning. Stigrot had spoken a lot with Libera Lenka Dürr and Jennifer Janiska just for the acceptance, in order to scrape out every ball from the opponent as far as possible. This only succeeded to a limited extent because the Stuttgart women were also lucky enough to be capable.

Krystal Rivers managed a net roller on serve, the ball landed directly in the DSC field – 4: 6 from Dresden’s point of view. At the point of 9:14, the American skilfully placed over the block of three.

She didn’t just hammer on it. And so the guests got rolling. The mistresses did not make enough of their good chances of attack.

The result: Dresden had already lost the first round with 15:25 after 22 minutes. Until the set ball in the second, Stuttgart needed 30 minutes – 20:25.

Impressive until then: Ex-DSC ace Maria Segura Palleres scored with almost 70 percent of her attacks. Coupled with the strong Rivers, Stuttgart was simply merciless. In the end, both had a rate of 43 percent.

The third sentence can be really important for the ego of Stigrot & Co. for the series. There they showed what can be done. When the Swabians had already retracted the fourth successful net scooter to 3: 6 from Dresden’s point of view, the DSC team jolted. They turned up and the set – 16:13.

Reason: They finally brought the ball to the ground in the Stuttgart field. But then the strand tore and the guests came up and passed – 16:19.

Fitting: Madeleine Gates hit the ball out of bounds on service with a lot of risk. Rivers & Co. celebrated match ball at 6 p.m.

Coach Alex Waibl: “Stuttgart was strong as a bear. We tried to force it. But it’s a game, we have to shake ourselves briefly now.”
