Dresden residents and tourists enthusiastically welcomed the 30-meter-high Striezel fir on Saturday at the Altmarkt. The 45-year-old tree from the front garden of a family in Crostau near Bautzen is said to be the adornment of the 587th Striezelmarkt.
But because of the rapidly increasing corona incidence numbers, dealers and Striezelmarkt fans are again worried about Germany’s most famous Christmas market.
