The “Semper Opera Ball – the Gala”, which was intended as a replacement, was canceled by the organizing association.

The plan: Artists like Rolando Villazón (49), Diana Damrau (49), René Pape (56), Roland Kaiser (69), the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Staatsoper choir should be on the stage of the Semperoper.

Top model Barbara Meier (34) was planned as co-moderator.

According to the association, the demand for tickets was “enormous” – the event including the subsequent ball in the Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais would have been sold out with around 400 visitors.

Now the planning is completely directed towards the coming year.

The 16th SemperOpernball is scheduled to take place on January 28, 2022.
