Dresden: Riddle about young corona deaths in Dresden | Regional

Dresden – The corona death of a student (30) continues to puzzle the authorities in Dresden. The young man, who, according to BILD information, is a 30-year-old Indian, died of Corona on June 1 in Dresden after his health had deteriorated rapidly within a very short time.

As the health department announced on Friday, the student returned to Germany from India at the end of April, was then initially tested negative and, as prescribed, went into quarantine until May 9th.

It was not until May 25 that he came to the hospital with symptoms and a few days later his condition deteriorated extremely and resulted in death.

There may be a later outbreak of a variant of the virus. However, the 30-year-old may still have been infected after his return. That is still completely unclear at the moment.

▶ ︎His condition is said to have deteriorated very quickly after initially being in a good general condition and without any recognizable previous illnesses and ultimately led to death. “This very rapid course justifies the suspicion that the infection is due to a virus variant,” said a spokesman for the health department.

The student dormitory on Hildebrandstrasse in Dresden was completely quarantined on Thursday until June 8th after the death became known. So far, 100 PCR tests have been carried out by the health department in the student residence. A total of 150 to 200 residents are to be tested, results are not yet available.
