Dresden public prosecutor’s office brings charges to the Pirna district court · Leipziger Zeitung

The Dresden public prosecutor’s office has brought charges against a 27-year-old German to the Pirna district court – criminal judge – on suspicion of negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm.

On April 29, 2023, at around 4:00 p.m., the accused drove a car on state highway 169 from the direction of Leupoldishain in the direction of Krietz-schwitz. He is accused of driving too fast and not paying attention. As a result, the accused is said to have skidded his vehicle at kilometer 0.61 in the Königstein/Saxon Switzerland district and got into the oncoming lane.

There the accused collided with another car, which was no longer able to avoid him. The accused’s 19-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident. The 54-year-old driver of the other car was seriously injured in the accident and had to be hospitalized.

The accused has no criminal record. He stated that he had no recollection of what happened in the accident.

The Pirna District Court will now decide on the opening of the main proceedings and the admission of the charges.

A date for the main hearing will be set by the Pirna District Court.
