Dresden – The yellow flowers timidly begin to bloom – they keep alive the memory of the world-renowned Dresden cell researcher Prof. Suzanne Eaton († 59)!
Because at her former place of work, the Max Planck Institute in Johannstadt, a memorial garden has now opened for the scientist who was raped and murdered in Crete in summer 2019.
A wooden cross with her name plaquette (photo) reminds of the native American next to the flowers, a strong oak bench and a pond.
Her husband, Prof. Anthony Hyman (58), who continues to work at the Dresden Institute, says: “Suzanne loved gardening. She always said to me that she would like to spend her retirement in a big garden. And I am quite sure that this garden would put a big smile on your face in your memory. “
In addition, there is now a scholarship in the name of Prof. Eaton, for which young researchers can apply until June.
Eaton’s murderer Yannis P. (29) was sentenced to life imprisonment in Greece.
