As the police announced on Tuesday evening in response to a query from TAG24, several people got into a fight on Prager Straße in front of a café at the Centrum-Galerie at around 6:15 p.m.

Two people suffered minor injuries as a result of the brawl and had to be taken to hospital.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Dresden police department announced that six to eight people had clashed there. Two Syrian citizens (aged 19 and 45) were beaten with a rubber hose.

Two suspects (23 and 41 years old) – also of Syrian origin – have already been arrested on site. The other people involved are not yet known to the investigators.

“The background to the incident is still unclear,” a police spokesman said on Tuesday. Investigations into grievous bodily harm have begun.

In addition to the police and rescue services, a large contingent of firefighters was also deployed. When the alarm was raised, the control center initially assumed that there was a mass casualty incident (MANV). The operation was over after about two and a half hours.
