Cockatoo kidnapped by Kakadu-Bar
Dresden – He will turn 70 in November and is a legend. Myths and stories intertwine around what is probably Dresden’s most famous bar. There is a movie about the bar and a mascot. Or rather: there was a mascot!
A stranger kidnapped the red cockatoo from the Kakadu-Bar of the Parkhotel am Weißen Hirsch.
“On the night of October 2, 2022, our beloved cockatoo was kidnapped from the bar at 2:55 am,” says the Parkhotel’s Facebook page.
A woman is said to have stolen the bird. What the thief probably doesn’t know is that the surveillance camera filmed the Kakadu-Klau.
The operators threaten: “We give the kidnapper until 19.10.22 18.00 to return the cockatoo, otherwise we will be forced to report the surveillance video to the police.”
The bar landmark, to which the 2006 love drama “Der Rote Kakadu” was dedicated, is expected to return to the bar by November 19th at the latest.
It is then that the Kakadu-Bar celebrates its 70th birthday. It starts at 2 pm with coffee and cake, cocktails from the 50s and 60s, obviously the film and live music. On November 20th at 2pm you are invited to a tea ball. Free entry.
