Dresden – For the second weekend in July we have some great weekend tips for you, dear readers! Have fun reading and planning!

For mushroom pickers

Glashütte – In Reinhardtsgrimma, visitors can visit the mushroom museum (Grimmsche Hauptstrasse 44). After a long break, it is open again on Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On other days, interested parties should register by calling 03505342706.

For gardening enthusiasts

Panschwitz-Kuckau – The Dresden leisure group invites you to a trip to the St. Marienstern monastery in Panschwitz-Kuckau on Sunday. There is a tour of the monastery garden and a visit to the monastery bakery. registration under freizeitdresden.de or phone 017657976030.

For wild west romantics

Radebeul – The Karl May Festival takes place off the beaten track this year. Whether in and around the Karl May Museum with puppet shows and guided tours, in the Wahnsdorfer Prärie (Pfeifferweg in Wahnsdorf) with riding school and archery, on the platform of the Santa Fe Express (Sidonienstraße 1c) with music and western dance or in the Golden Nugget Ranch (Lößnitzgrund stop) with gold mining and donkey rides – there is something for all age groups in the program. For art supporters

Dresden – The association “Art for Us” advocates a reviving art scene. At Heidemühlen-Teich (Radeberger Landstrasse 100), a summer party will be celebrated on Saturday from 6 p.m., which is intended to provide positive impulses. Cello music is played, flamenco is danced and campfire romance is guaranteed. Anyone who would like to support the artists is cordially invited. A donation of 10.99 euros is requested.

For time travelers

Meissen – “Cogwheel & Cylinder” is the name of the art and culture festival in front of the Kornhaus in Meißen, which invites you to a “Journey in the times of Verne”. Until Sunday (Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) there is steampunk, swing, traveling theater, dance and numerous market stalls. Free entry.

For music and literature lovers

Pirna – In the hunting lodge Graupa there is the Richard Wagner Festival, which inspires freedom of thinking on the weekend (from 7.30 pm) with the performance “Freedom – Beautiful Spark of Gods” This is about Friedrich Schiller, Gottfried Körner and other artists of the time. For Schlager fans

Dresden – A beach party will take place at the Ballsport-Arena-Beach on Saturday from 6 p.m. The guests can look forward to hits non-stop, barbecue, cocktails, beach volleyball and a chilled-out evening! Admission is free.

For those who are secure in the future

Dresden – The special exhibition “Show & Tell: Your Sustainability Stories 2021” in the Technical Collections (Junghansstrasse 1-3), which can be viewed from Saturday, is all about sustainability. The best pictures by photographers and video artists from all over the world were shown from 8.30 p.m. on Friday at the Long Night of Science. Exhibition open Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission: 5/4 euros. Children under 7 years free.
