Dresden and Halle: Marius Müller-Westernhagen cancels further concerts

Singer Marius Müller-Westernhagen (75) recently cancelled performances in Mönchengladbach and Coburg due to illness – now two more have been cancelled. The concerts in Dresden and Halle/Saale had to be cancelled “on medical advice due to the artist’s persistent viral infection,” it said in an Instagram post on the singer’s page. The concerts were no longer available on the Eventim ticket portal.

Müller-Westernhagen was supposed to play in Dresden on Saturday (24 August) and in Halle on Tuesday (27 August). There will be no catch-up dates, it was said.

According to the Instagram post, other concerts on the “75 Live” tour are not affected by the cancellation and could probably take place as planned. There are currently still performances on the tour schedule at the Loreley open-air stage in St. Goarshausen, in Neu-Ulm, Munich and Rostock.

With more than twelve million records sold, Müller-Westernhagen, who was born in Düsseldorf in 1948 and now lives in Berlin, is considered one of the most successful German musicians. His big hits include “Mit Pfefferminz bin ich dein Prinz”, “Lass uns leben”, “Freiheit” and “Sexy”.
