After being relegated from the football district league, SV Drensteinfurt has once again fallen back to last place in the football district league A following a 1:5 (0:4) defeat at SC Nienberge.

Drensteinfurt – Although the Stewwerters had a victory against SV Davaria Davensberg about a week and a half ago, the red and black team still have zero points on the credit side due to a mortgage of three minus points from the previous season.

“Nienberge was very good, I have to admit. They showed us what it means to throw yourself into the duels,” the discussion with SVD by coach Kai Pfaff during the week seemed to have borne no fruit. “Our attitude was wrong. I can’t say that the team set an example today. I’m slowly at a loss for words,” added Pfaff.

Pfaff: “Total failures in some positions”

The strong hosts had already made a preliminary decision in the first half hour, while the Drensteinfurt team showed too little resistance from the start. Luca Cavalheri (15th), Aaron Joshua Franz Timmerhues (22nd) and Cedric Eisfeldt (28th) ensured a reassuring 3-0 lead, before Pascal Fischer added the fourth goal before half-time (42nd). “We conceded two goals from 30 meters because our goalkeeper was simply standing far out,” the SVD coach was fed up: “We had total failures in some positions and they are becoming more rather than less. When one of us had the ball – I felt really sorry for him today because the others didn’t offer him any passing options at all.”

After the break, SC Nienberge, feeling confident of a commanding lead, slowed down a bit without losing control of the match. The game continued to meander along until Stewwerter managed to score a consolation goal. Laurenz Wulfert dribbled down the wing and crossed to Fabio Bories, who headed in ten minutes after being substituted to make it 4-1 (77′). Shortly before the final whistle, Timon Stude made it 5-1 on the other side (85′). “If you don’t show ambition and willingness to run and don’t get into the tackles, you lose 5-1. The problem is that I talk about everything before the game and then it doesn’t get implemented. We’ll see what I do in training on Tuesday and Thursday, but I’m glad that we have a break next Sunday,” said Pfaff.
