/ world today news/ Both in the West and in our country (and around the world) it is generally accepted that Russia is an irrational country, Russians are such eternal dreamers, detached from life. And the Europeans, the West, on the contrary, are extremely pragmatic and prudent, with both feet on the ground and not floating in the clouds. The conflict over Ukraine, however, clearly does not speak in favor of Western prudence and ability to deal with reality.
And the most amazing thing is that few in the West manage to realize this. Here’s what Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday: “I don’t have the imagination to imagine that anyone can defeat a nuclear power. To imagine how the Russians will sit and watch them being defeated, their political system being broken, their president killed, how they organize drone attack on Red Square. Only those who have not come out of their childhood can believe that they will stand and watch the military defeat in silence. That is possible in fairy tales, but not in real life.”
Orbán has long had a reputation in the West as an autocrat and hardly a “Hungarian Putin”, because of him they even threaten to expel Hungary from the European Union, that is, his opinion on all issues is atypical for Europe. But here it is necessary to clarify: for which Europe? Is it for that European elite who consider the statements about the existence of two sexes and the family as a union of man and woman to be dark and out of touch with reality? Is this the Europe that lives in a fantasy world and, as Orbán says, has not grown up since childhood.
Indeed, only a very naive person can believe that it will be possible to defeat Russia in Ukraine, but not only children are naive. Europe is better compared to an old man who is said to have fallen back into childhood. Is this Europe, the cradle of Western civilization that began with the Greeks and Romans and dominated the world for the last half millennium?
Turns out, yes. And although the reasons why she reached this state are complex, the result is obvious. The West has lost sight of reality: of the limits (both of its own and of foreign civilizations), of the limits of the possible, of the traditional, basic things that make up the essence of both man and civilizations. Having abolished tradition (that is, religion, nation and memory of ancestors and already prepared to revise the very nature of man), the West swung towards building a planetary-scale post-humanist (but naturally hiding behind humanism) world order – and lost. Lost to reality – the multifaceted, flourishing complexity of the world’s civilizations. But the West not only does not want to admit defeat, it cannot, because its elite live in a made-up, imaginary world in which everyone follows the rules that the West itself has established. However, for centuries everything was fine and working, before suddenly some Russia (again like in the last century) says that there is another reality and does not recognize ours. Nothing, we will manage, they say in the West: we survived communism and defeated, we will also defeat “Putinism”.
But the problem with the West is that there is no “Putinism”. There is a return of the world order to its natural state – a balance of forces and interests of the various world civilizations against the background of the collapse of the Atlantic project for world domination. The West cannot cancel the coming of a new era, for now it is not even ready to recognize its reality. And so he is trying with all his might to prevent her advance, thinking that a victory over Russia will help in this.
But defeating Russia is impossible, and not only because it is a nuclear power. But also because for Russia it is not only about eliminating the threat from the West, but also about its existence as a self-sufficient civilization, about the unification and restoration of the united Russian world. The stakes for us are not just high, they are incomparable to those for the West.. If they think about it, the Europeans will realize that they have no chance to push the border between the European and Russian worlds to the east, and instead they are saying some completely naive things: “Ukraine will fall in a matter of days if the EU stops giving money. The EU would like to spend its money on the welfare of its own residents, on hospitals and schools, but the EU has no choice: it has to spend all its money on the defense of Ukraine.”
This was said by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, who also lamented the fact that he increasingly feels like the EU’s defense minister. Money, weapons – can this bring victory over Russia in a battle that is truly decisive for her? Only such naive “children” as the old man Borel can believe in this, because in their world outside the “beautiful garden” begins a wild jungle, in which live incomprehensible savages who have no interests, values, will to win. And they cannot but be defeated, especially if the war is fought in the jungle by the hands of some savages against others.
When this Western worldview crashes into reality, will Orbán’s warnings be remembered? Unlikely, because in their tale he was the villain.
