DreameBot L20 Ultra: The Most Advanced Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with Sliding Mopping Pads

Dreame is expanding into Europe, the first products are already available on the Czech market
Their robotic vacuum cleaners are not among the cheapest, but they offer the most advanced technologies
The latest DreameBot L20 Ultra is the first in the world to have sliding mopping pads

I dare say that most of you have not heard of the Dreame brand yet, but at the same time, I believe that we will hear more and more about it in the future. Dreame Technology, as the full name sounds, was founded only in 2017 and from the very beginning focused on its own development of smart robotic vacuum cleaners. He currently owns more than 785 patents, which Xiaomi probably noticed and bought Dreame at the end of 2017. The brand continues to operate completely independently and tries to profile itself as a premium brand of smart vacuum cleaners, not only robotic ones, but also stick ones. However, their portfolio also includes robotic mowers and pool cleaners.

Some Dreame products can be found on the Czech market under the Xiaomi brand, while others are sold directly under Dreame’s wings. For example, this is the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10+ (aka Dreame L10S Ultra), whose detailed review you can read here. In the test, I did not spare words of praise towards the qualities of the product and the amount of technology that the vacuum cleaner uses, and even then I began to search more for what Dreame actually is. I am currently testing the Dreame T30 stick vacuum, which is a competitor to the iconic Dyson V11. I will offer you a review of it on SMARTmania during the next week.

At the Dreame company’s exhibition, I was immediately attracted by the giant docking station that belongs to the new DreameBot L20 Ultra robotic vacuum cleaner/mop. Its dimensions are 60.65 × 42.6 × 49.9 cm, weight 13.3 kg. There are several reasons why the station is this big. It is not just a matter of significantly larger tanks for clean (4.5 l) and dirty (3.2 l) water (+ there is space for an approx. 0.5 l detergent dispenser), but some new technologies also had to get their space.

In the future, for example, Dreame will offer a special kit for the dock, with which you will be able to connect it to the water connection and waste, so that you do not have to worry about changing the water at all. As in the case of the Dreame L10S Ultra model, there are also two rotating mopping pads on the body of the vacuum cleaner, which the docking station can clean and dry automatically. A new feature of the L20 Ultra is the ability to automatically put the pads away when they are not needed.

When the vacuum cleaner is moved onto a low-pile carpet, the mopping pads are automatically raised. However, if the vacuum cleaner detects a carpet with high or dense pile in the room, it will automatically head to the dock before cleaning that area, where it will “put away” the mop pads, vacuum the carpet, return to collect them and continue cleaning.

Another gadget, which no other competition offers yet, is the possibility of extending the mopping pad a few centimeters outside the body of the robot, which allows it to reach even hard-to-reach places (I recommend watching the video above). The suction power (7000 Pa) is also extreme. The robot itself is no small thing either – its dimensions are 35 x 35 x 10.38 cm, weight 4.3 kg. The battery boasts a capacity of 6400 mAh. The manufacturer states that in the weakest silent mode, it can vacuum or mop for 260 minutes at a time. When vacuuming and mopping at the same time, the duration in silent mode drops to 180 minutes.

There is a sensor in the tube that drains the dirty water from the robot to the container, which detects the level of pollution. If the concentration of impurities in the water is higher than the standard values, the robot software will evaluate that the given zone or room is more polluted and will return to repeat the cleaning. The robot’s software can also detect more than 55 different types of objects and obstacles to avoid.

The only thing we don’t know yet is the price and availability DreameBot L20 Ultra on the European market. I am currently checking with the brand’s Czech representative whether it will be available in our country as well.
