Malmö FF has in recent years succeeded extremely well in the European cups and recorded approximately SEK 700 million in its European game.
Now the team is ready for a new journey, new success and new million rains.
A first step in the first qualifying round will be the match against the qualifying winner in the first qualifying round.
FCI Levadia, Estonia; La Fiorita, San Marino; Vikingur Reykjavik, Iceland; Inter Club d’Escaldes, Andorra make up a place.
The qualifier winner is first selected through two semi-finals which will be played on 21 June and a final on Midsummer’s Eve on 24 June. All matches will be played in Reykjavik.
The semifinals are played as follows:
FCI Levadia – Vikingur Reykjavik.
La Fiorita – Inter Club d’Escaldes.
Should Malmö FF face Vikingur Reykjavik, it will be a dear reunion for Milos Milojevic. The MFF coach was in the club in various roles – players, assistant coaches and coaches – for a total of nine years. Today, the former MFF hill Kari Arnason is sports manager in Vikingur Reykjavik.
The most difficult opposition according to the ranking is Estonian FCI Levadia.
Together with city rival Flora Tallinn, they are the giant of Estonian football. Levadia has won the league 10 times, Flora 13.
Levadia – which merged with FCI Tallinn in 2017 – has no major European successes to boast about. The main achievement came in the summer of 2016 when they beat Faroese HB and then Czech Slavia Prague pressed in the second round of the Europa League qualifiers.
– All matches in this phase are tricky, if we think we are Malmö and the opponents are bad. But if we are humble and go for 100 percent, then we win, MFF coach Milos Milojevic explained on Monday.
First round of the Champions League qualifiers played on 5-6 July with return one week later on 12-13 July.
Should Malmö FF go out already in the first round, they will instead go into the qualifiers for the Europa Conference League.
On Wednesday at 12.00, qualifying round 2 in the Champions League qualifier will be drawn.
