Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green said he plans to return tomorrow in the road game against the Houston Rockets.
Draymond Green sprained his left ankle in a pickup game three days before the start of training camp and missed the first two games of the season, but he has been recovering on the court and, as of Sunday, had participated in 5-on-5 games. Also featured in a controlled scrimmage game on Monday.
Draymond Green said Saturday he hopes to play in back-to-back games with the Warriors tomorrow against the Houston Rockets and Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans, citing the season’s new rules that require players to participate in 65 games. Players will be eligible to receive awards in the post-season.
“I have a goal, not sure what it is yet, but I have to play 65 games,” said Draymond Green, who will be subject to an unspecified playing time limit and is unsure whether he will start or come off the bench.
The Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns 104-108 at home in the first game of the season, and defeated the Sacramento Kings 122-114 on the road in Game 2.
