Ilmar Blumberg’s exhibition “Drawn blindfolded”

From February 25 to May 19, the exhibition “Drawn with blindfolded eyes” by Ilmars Blumberg is on view in the gallery “Romas dārzs”.
Ilmars Blumbergs considered himself a draftsman, worked alternately with his right or left hand, drew with both hands at the same time, tried to break down the “feet”. He drew with his body to avoid “meaning”. He varied his signatures, in which the identity of the author is manifested in the most direct way. Did not stick to one particular form. If we were to compare this variation of signatures to any substance, we would have to call it mercury.
To draw blindfolded, students of art schools are specially invited to the “Romas dārzs” gallery in Liepāja. Ilmars Blumberg’s drawings to stimulate the desire of the viewers to get to know themselves. Draw what is in your head. Draw what you feel, at least one line. Do not forget about the signature. The drawing will become your self-portrait.
