In that respect, the draw could have turned out worse for Van Gerwen. In the third round, Van Gerwen may have to deal with a seeded player for the first time, and that is Ricky Evans who is in 32nd place of the so-called Order of Merit state.

sport">The World Cup darts starts on Tuesday December 15 at the Alexandra Palace in London. Up to a thousand spectators are welcome at each afternoon and evening session. The fans must adhere to the strict corona measures. The final will be played on Sunday January 3 of next year.
sport">Wright is the defending champion in London. On New Years Day of 2020, De Schot defeated Van Gerwen 7-3 in sets in the final. Wright starts the world championship against the winner of the first round match between Steve West and Amit Gilitwala. Van Gerwen won the World Cup in 2014, 2017 and 2019.
