From Achdé, the current cartoonist of Lucky Luke, to Zep, Titeuf’s father, here is a series of videos where cartoonists give the keys to their art. Historical comics, thrillers, science fiction, intimate stories: draw characters of all styles with them.
Drawing is learned and shared. It is this dual idea that gave birth to “The Drawing Lesson”, a series of videos where comic book designers come to tell about their practice and their characters.
Catherine Meurice tells how she drew and painted Delacroix, Binet les Bidochons, Christophe Blain Blueberry and Gus. Each with their sensitivity, their pencils, markers and brushes, and their techniques. Among the artists who lend themselves to the exercise, let us also note Marcello Quintanilha, Fauve d’or 2022 in Angoulême, Frederik Peeters, the designer of “Saint-Elme”, Florence Cestac, the author of “Ginette” but also of ” Déblok”, or even Riad Sattouf, Bastien Vivès, Catel, Zep or Enki Bilal.
Some of these authors welcome us to their studio, others come to the studios of France Inter. And it all starts with a blank sheet.
All genres of comics are in “The Drawing Lesson”
To present these videos to you, we have decided to group them by folder, how many genres of comics.
