The criminals used drastic measures on Thursday morning to rob the Achat Cash store in Drancy, 4, avenue Henri-Barbusse. An hour after opening, two men wearing helmets, gloves and armed with a Kalashnikov-type rifle and an iron bar rushed into this shop specializing in the purchase and resale of second-hand items, including gold jewelry. In their dark outfit, they did not go unnoticed.
“We had seen them arrive, but we didn’t have time to barricade ourselves,” admits an employee who was able to take refuge at the back of the store. Once in the business, the two robbers ordered the five employees and the customers “to lie down on the ground”, continues the witness.
They pulverized the window of two displays
The manager had to face this determined team armed with an assault rifle. The barrel of the weapon was used to pulverize the window of two displays where gold jewelery was arranged. The criminals did not have time to obtain the contents of the safe.
Their intervention lasted only 2 short minutes. They managed to escape on a two-wheeler before the police arrived. The damage would be assessed at several thousand euros. The store was able to stay open. Police patrols provided regular surveillance around the area. Before crossing the threshold of the business, the robbers had struck several blows in the glass front door.
Both men are still being actively sought. The investigation was entrusted to the departmental service of the judicial police.
