The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said the dead and deceased were transported to his home in Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra. They were previously rushed to the nearest health center.
“The survivors and the deceased have been taken to the Ambarita Health Center. The cause of death from the results of the examination and information is suspected because the victim had drunk too much water, causing difficulty breathing,” said Kombes Hadi to reporters, Monday (31/5/2021) .

Three passengers named H Zulkarnain Tanjung (76), Hj Farida (72), and Neiny Safrina (33) were successfully evacuated. Meanwhile, another passenger, Desy Marizdayani (32), died because he could not get out and was trapped in the car for about 15 minutes. The rescue of the victims was dramatic.
