A race full of incidents
If you just arrived now, know that you missed a ‘crazy’ race, even if only with 14 of the 22 laps completed. All because of the rain, which appeared in the minutes before the start.
The riders still left with slick tires, but at the end of the first lap practically everyone changed bikes. An intense battle then ensued at the front, with Miguel Oliveira showing all his skill by fighting for the podium – after coming from 16th. Everything was going well, until on the 10th lap the Portuguese started to lose contact, was being overtaken and ended up retiring to the pits. A problem with the equipment (water got into his helmet) forced this withdrawal, which arose moments before the display of the red flag, due to the very dangerous conditions due to the rain.
With the race suspended, the management still tried to start again, but the first meters on the wet surface made it clear that it was not safe to continue. The end of the race was declared there, with Jorge Martín winning.
