The case is updated.
The fire service has responded to a terraced house fire at Slattum in Nittedal on the night of Friday.
Just before 01:00, the fire service at X reports a fire in a terraced house in Slattum Terrasse in Nittedal.
At 00.57, the Police in East writes that the emergency services are on the scene and in the process of putting out the fire and evacuating residents and neighbours.
– The place is burning heavily. So far, we do not have control of the fire, says duty manager Leif Høyland at East 110 central to NTB.
Høyland further states that there are eight housing units in the row.
When the emergency services arrived there was a fire in one of the apartments, with the risk of spreading.
Has spread to the entire range
Just before half past two, duty manager Leif Høyland at the East 110 central informs Romerikes Blad that there was a fire in several apartments.
The fire service received a report of the fire at 0.35am.
NTB’s photographer on the scene says at 1.15 that it looks like the fire has spread to the entire row.
– It burns very well and there is a lot of black smoke, says the photographer.
The entire building will be totally damaged
– All the residents must now be evacuated, says police operations manager Finn Håvard Aas to Nettavisen at 01.50.
– It seems that all eight housing units in the terraced house will be completely damaged.
None of the evacuated residents were physically injured.
Currently, it is difficult to estimate how long the extinguishing work will take, but it is expected that the fire service will be on site throughout the night, and beyond the morning hours to carry out any additional extinguishing.
– The cause of the fire is unclear. The fire service will investigate this after the extinguishing work has been completed, Aas tells Nettavisen.
– The fire started at the end of the row, he tells NTB.
14 people evacuated
At 02.22 the police write that all the housing units are now completely damaged.
14 people have been evacuated from these. All unharmed.
– All of these have been accounted for. No one was injured, but it is clear that it is dramatic to experience something like this, says the operations manager to NTB.
He further says that work is being done on alternative places where these people can live.
There must be no danger of the fire spreading to other terraced houses nearby.
