Drama is available on F1 GP Abu Dhabi moment Max Verstappen grabbed the first podium after overtaking Lewis Hamilton on the last lap. He locked in the world title F1 2021.
The F1 GP Abu Dhabi took place at Yas Marina Circuit, United Arab Emirates, Sunday (12/12/2021) night WIB. The final race of F1 2021 presents the race for the world title between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Both drivers have the same points, namely 369.5.
Verstappen and Hamilton started in first and second positions at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The competition between the two was fierce right after the start.
Hamilton was able to overtake Verstappen. The two drivers then collided in the corner.
Hamilton who overtakes from the inside at the corner out of the track. However, he still drove in run off arena.
The British rider led the race before making a pit stop on lap 15. The race leader was taken over by Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez.
On lap 21, Hamilton superbly overtook Perez to return to the top of the list. The Red Bull Racing team ordered Perez to give up second place to Verstappen.
Verstappen tried to continue to press Hamilton. However, the Marcedes racer appeared primed to keep away.
When the race left three laps, safety car had to leave after Nicholas Latifi had an accident. This makes the distance between Hamilton and Verstappen back closer.
Drama then occurred on the last lap, Verstappen was able to overtake Hamilton at corner 4. Verstappen managed to win the race. Hamilton was in second place, while the third podium was won by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.
The victory in Abu Dhabi brought Verstappen to lock the 2021 F1 world title. He collected a total of 394.5 points ahead of Hamilton with 388.5 points.
