Drama in Formula One, action must be taken immediately

The cost ceiling in Formula One introduced this year will put a heavier-than-expected burden on teams: the $ 140 million limit seems even lower this year due to inflation and global economic developments, and some teams have already spent their development budgets on for the whole year – writes the vezess.hu.

“Seven teams will probably have to miss the last four races to fit under the ceiling. It doesn’t just affect the big teams, it’s also the midfield, who suffer a lot from inflation, ”said Christian Horner, team leader at Red Bull.

He believes the International Automobile Federation will have to step in, otherwise the supervisory board will face serious problems. “Energy bills and the cost of living are growing exponentially, and F1 is no exception. Shipping prices have quadrupled and we cannot influence that, ”he added.

According to the BBC, Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren were also behind Horner, but Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Haas and Williams voted down the proposal to somehow adjust the cost limit to the inflation rates set by the International Monetary Fund.
